Diving with Bull Sharks in Playa del Carmen, Mexico

Here is a video shot by Marcel Gubern (oceanzoom.com) of our dive with the Bull Sharks in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. In the video, you see my husband, myself and our friend Leo Morales, a handicapped diver who challenges the meaning of “disability.” We went down to 80 feet and stayed in one line while two of the guides fed the sharks and one more watched our backs. Although we chose to do a feeding dive (you have the option of not feeding), the divers decided half way through the dive to stop feeding the sharks because they were already very excited on their own. The experience was fantastic! There were about 9 or 10 sharks swimming around us, plus a school of fish that kept blocking our view of the sharks! (One fish in particular was pretty annoying, biting our GoPros!) If you ever have an opportunity to do this, we highly recommend it! It was safe, fun and incredibly rewarding! The trip was led by Pepe Scuba Dive Shop — they were awesome!
