Diving Mexico’s Sea of Cortez (Ep. 6) Resolute Sets Sail

In this episode:
We show a little of the amazing diving scenery around the Sea of Cortez. With over 900 species of fish we do our best to see them all! After we finish with our dives, we can’t think of anything better to do but drink beer and have our own beer taste test showdown with our friends from S/V Orion (www.orionandthesea.com). See which one we choose! Will it be Tecate, Corona, Pacifico or Modelo?

And as always, we show you a little of the maintenance required to keep our sailboat in tip top shape 😉

did the boat sink?

Tony Bonner says:

Any chance you could do a video on your boat? What type and so on.  Would love to know what type of sailing experience you two have.  Thanks,  love the videos… keep them coming.

Alex Freire says:

your regulator first stage needs to point to the BC! you got that wrong! are you certified?

George Byrne says:

I just tripped over this video, nice. I noticed one glaring oversight(?) on your beer taste test… There was no “Dos XX” Amber… Whenever we go down to Mexico I see it everywhere! Anyway when my wife and I go to diner later this evening I’ll do ‘your’ taste test and see which one we like better. Thanks for the Video…!

Raul Thepig says:

Throw out that electric toilet and install a new manual one. It will last.

Robert Pait says:

I think it’s a lesson for Modelo more than anybody else that they need to Jazz up their cans in order to increase sales

Charles Rablin says:

What a fun voyage

marine919 says:

See any Great Whites in the Sea of Cortez ? Enjoy your travels .

James Lane says:

good video make your butt looks like you got some good radio equipment smart man Amber won’t work though

Vic a says:

Thank you for sharing your adventure with us! Resolute Sets Sail has become by far my favorite YouTube Chanel. What I like the most about your videos in the nice mix of content, I specially like your interactions with the locals. I wish you the best of luck to you!

Truth Matters says:

If I’m not mistaken, Sea of Cortez is also visited by the White Shark at times. Be careful!

Thadeus Moor says:

love the video. keep it going. we are avid divers. we will get a compressor.

Michael Vine says:

Love the diving, Baja is so different with all the green sea weed. Liked how respectful you are with the fish. Only taking a few for your dinner not a great string of fish. Silvia Earl is my hero. Im know cans are a requirement for beer when cruising, but beer from bottles just tastes better. Mexican water, need I say more. Needs tequila to clear the Baja fog. Wish it was me

Chris Krajewski says:

That’s why, I drink only European beer and > o n l y < from bottles . And.... - never Heineken - horse urine !

Corkedit says:

You guys need to drink more water to help your head !

Twotickets ToParadise says:

What a great channel. Just found it today. Looking forward to the rest of the videos.

Jake says:

How can it be the definitive beer test if you’re missing Negra Modelo and Estrella???

S/V Emmy says:

Thanks fair winds!

beach bummin says:

good job on choosing modello, i was gonna say i feel for you having to drink any of that however i know you cant be too choosey when sailing.

Paul Goss says:

Hi!! I am Paul, suffered a nasty stroke, and I would like a free or close to it catamaran! 32-50 feet, or at least a sailboat!  I I would love to give you trips any where!!  So if its neglected I can Help!!  Long as it motors a bit. Theres much more to this story. I need a place to stay, with something to do whenever I can. Right now its only about an hour or two a day, a boat would really help!! I am trying really really hard!   I am 250 miles from seattle.  I am 58 and had a nasty stroke 2 and a half years ago. It has taken 95% of all my memories away!  and my right side of my body, which is slowly comming back. I dont drive and type with one finger, I can use my arms but healing of my right hand is slow.  I love sanding and polishing any thing!! (high end painting,I used to do a lot!!)  That would take some time to do a boat, I have done a few before!  Or is there a rich person that wanted videos of exotic places, or who would care enough to help, who knows!! This so called stroke just wants me to make people happy!   Please get a hold of me if you have anything I could have!! We could talk sometime!! I just wanna clean and polish things, it is sooo cool!!  love you all, Paul   If you know ANYONE have them write!!!!    energetic432111@gmail.com

Rory Cogavin says:

Modelo, Corona, and Pacifico are all made by the same company (grupo Modelo). Pacifico is by far the best!

Eric Hoverson says:

Megan, I used to like Pacifico too until my wife and I took a trip to Mazatlan. While we didn’t go into the factory, the surrounding area was so unpleasant (especially the smell) that i don’t drink it anymore. I guess it is the visual marketing that draws you to it! Enjoying your videos, and can’t wait to sail around the world, but for now i’m stuck sailing on my lake and watching everyone else! Fair winds and following seas!

Cruising = Fixing boats in Exotic locations 🙂

BrokenRRT says:

Useless fact: Modelo is the most sold Mexican beer in Arizona.

Luis Sousa says:

How much did you buy your boat?

Sailing Miss Lone Star says:

Love your videos as always! We finally bought our sailboat and we can’t wait to bring it to the Keys from Maine in April! Looking forward to Mexico!

Raul Thepig says:

Did you try Sol? It is Mexico’s best beer.

Lazy Jacques says:

At some point you will cross s/v Prism’s track. When that happens, the universe will cry out for a Resolute/Prism Crossover Episode.

Sailing with the Foxwell Family says:

We would love to start diving Not much point in the muddy waters that we sail in though

s/v Sailfish says:

Another great video guys! For round 2 of the Great Mexican Beer Test try Negra Modello (our fave) and also Leon. Both on “the darker side”. Hey, what brand of hard dinghy is your big yellow machine? Sure stands out in a crowd. Safe travels and fun adventures! s/v Sailfish, Sea of Cortez

Brian Mowers says:

Negra Modelo is my choice when we go to our favorite Mexican restaurant that only serves Mexican beer. It has a little more flavor than the Especial, IMHO. Great vid!!

Delores B says:

You guys are great…I really enjoy watching…
